What Provider Types can bill for Ultrasound Exams

Our NP's want to start billing/reading ultrasound exams (Vascular Office) - can we bill under them or does it need to be an MD billing for ultrasounds? Has anyone run in to this before? Particularly concerned with CMS guidelines on this.
