Chapter Association Board of Directors

The American Academy of Professional Coders Chapter Association (AAPCCA), the Governing Board for AAPC Local Chapters, is a non-profit association established to create, maintain and sustain the infrastructure, through approachable and accountable representation, necessary to empower local chapters to function in support of the AAPC mission of "Upholding a Higher Standard”. The Board provides policy, rules, regulations, direction and advice to the AAPC local chapters and is also charged with ensuring that the local chapters function in accordance with the mission of the AAPC.

The AAPCCA Board of Directors is comprised of 16 certified AAPC members, many of whom have former local chapter leadership experience, who work collaboratively with the AAPC staff as well as the current officers of the local chapters. Two board members represent each region of the country.

Jill has over 30 years of medical experience including a diverse background in all areas of medicine, from clinical to billing to physician specialties. Her comments and opinions can be seen in publications, audio conferences and at live educational conferences in several venues. She is one of the original members of the AAPCCA Board of Directors.

Director of Physician Compliance for Carolinas HealthCare System

Charla received her CPC in 1997 and holds specialty certifications in Cardiology and Evaluation and Management. She was named the AAPC “Coder of the Year” for 2000. Charla is one of the original members of the AAPCCA Board of Directors serving as vice-chair. She previously served the AAPC as a member of the National Advisory Board in 2005-2007.

Senior Manager of Coding and Compliance at UPMC's Department of Surgery and Anesthesiology

Suzan's 15 years of experience include seven years of teaching surgeons, physician extenders and staff on compliance and documentation issues. She is also the senior auditor at the CRN Institute where she audits and educates offices around the country. She has been on the AAPCCA Board of Directors since January 2008.

Reimbursement Coordinator for the Department of Emergency Medicine for Emory HealthCare in Atlanta

Reba has been in healthcare 30+ years and has maintained a professional membership with AAPC as a CPC since 1999. She worked with Governor Sonny Perdue to recognize coders, proclaiming March 15th as Professional Medical Coders Day for Georgia. While president, her chapter won Chapter of the Year in 2002. Reba is one of the original members of the AAPCCA Board of Directors.

Angela has been very active in the Kansas City Chapter since 2003 in addition to volunteering on several of the chapter's committees including banquet committee chair and election officer.
