Close to 2,000 AAPC members descended on the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas from April 5-8 for the 2009 AAPC National Conference, enjoying education and entertainment in the city that never really sleeps.

Highlights of the 2009 National Conference included:
- Over 45 educational sessions (for physician office, facility and payer coding arenas)
- 18 CEUs (virtually all the required CEUs for the year)
- Networking with hundreds of health care professionals from many different specialties
- A "Get to Know Local Chapters" event with representation from all over the country
- "Teach the Teacher" sessions: Classes specifically tailored for coding instructors

- Hands-on Anatomy Expo - The First Ever!
Attendees had the chance to roll up their sleeves and learn from the experts! Nine doctors used anatomical models, devices, videos, and their knowledge to instruct and showcase the various parts of the wonderful workings of the human body. Members were divided into intimate groups of fellow coders for an insider’s look at the anatomic and physiologic nuances of the human body.
