Hello
Is anyone who performs trigger point injections now receiving B15 denials from Anthem stating qualifying service/procedure not received? Per representatives, they are looking for these codes (20552, 20553) to be accompanied by the injectable substance code billing? We have always been advised not to bill the Lidocaine provided in the injections. Any input would be appreciated as we do tons of these injections.

The edit is currently being looked at - since Anthem did state not to bill for the Lidocaine. I'd hold off on billing these procedures or add J2001 to the claim form. The J code will get denied up front, but it may be what the system is looking for.

Has anyone heard any updates regarding this issue? We have now tried paring the TPI codes with J2001 and are still receiving these B15 denials. As of now we have done formal appeals with medical records on the majority of the claims but still looking for the magic code to get these claims through the first time. Any help would be appreciated.
