Our Nurses provide education to patients. The education they provide is to the patient for Self Injection of Tymlos at home.
Can we bill for this using 98960? Or should we consider 99211? Not sure if any payers provide reimbursement for 98960.
Your feedback is appreciated.

Hello,

Yes, 98960 is "Education and training for patient self-management by a qualified, non-physician health care professional using a standardized curriculum, face-to-face with patient (could include caregiver/family) each 30 minutes; individual patient". It would be 98961 for 2-4 patients and 98962 for 5-8 patients. CPT code 99211 denotes “Office or other outpatient visit for the evaluation and management of an established patient that may not require the presence of a physician”.
In this case, 98960 would be more appropriate. Make sure to include nurses notes when billing.
