CODING SUPERVISOR/INTERVENTIONAL CODER

This is a full time salaried position based out of our Avon, Ohio Office
Coding Supervisor/Interventional coder oversees staff and the daily coding and billing functions for a network of physician offices and/or contracted physician offices for designated health care services.

Responsibilities:
Coding Supervisor/Interventional Coder ensures accuracy, consistency and efficiency in relation to code assignment for reimbursement and reporting purposes. Performs quality reviews for coding staff in order to validate code and reimbursement assignments. Additional responsibilities include monitoring governmental and insurance industry information for correct code assignments, training coding staff, providing educational seminar for health care staff, communicating with physicians and health care professionals to clarify supportive documentation for code assignment and working with the billing department to ensure appropriate reimbursement for codes assigned.

This position maintains accurate charge forms and/or coding materials utilized in code assignments. Maintains Coding Policy and Procedure Manual and updates.
Coding /Supervisor/Interventional Coder also compiles data reports for meeting, serve on a variety of committees and attend professional meetings as relevant to practice(s).

Interventional Coder role – responsible for update and maintenance of all billing forms (office/hospital). Accurately codes Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral and/or EP procedures. Educates and supports coding staff and physicians on all aspects in maintaining high Compliance Standards of all Interventional Coding.

Collaborate with Account Receivable on claim denial and needed process changes and/or education to improve compliance.

The position also offers a competitive benefits package. They would also receive the following benefits paid for by the company: term life insurance in the amount of 1x their annual salary up to $50,000; Short Term Disability Benefits up to $200 a week and Long Term Disability. In addition, we have 401K and Profit Sharing. We offer paid holidays (6 major holidays throughout the year) and Paid Time Off. The PTO accrual rate is 0.077 for the first 5 years (approx. 4 weeks a year) and then goes to 0.096 after 5 years (approx. 5 weeks/year). The begin to accrue PTO time immediately.


Education: Generally possesses at least an associate's degree in health information technology or a related health care or coding certification

Experience: minimum of 5 years experience with multi-specialty coding including Cardiology (diagnostic and interventional), Family and Internal Practice, and Nephrology. Strongly prefer direct experience and proficiency in Cardiovascular, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology, and Endovascular Coding.
