ONC Issues Standards and Certification Final Rule Correction for EMRs
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) published an interim final rule in the Oct. 13 Federal Register to correct a recently detected error in the “Initial Set of Standards, Implementation Specifications, and Certification Criteria for Electronic Health Record Technology” Final Rule, published in the July 28 Federal Register.

CMS Issues 2009 eRx Incentive Payments
Incentive payments for the 2009 Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program are being distributed. Eligible professionals (EPs) who met the previous year’s criteria for successful reporting should receive payments no later than Oct. 22, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

2010 Medicare Survey Reveals Contractor Satisfaction Rate
The 2010 Medicare Contractor Provider Satisfaction Survey (MCPSS) results are in. The MCPSS offers Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) providers an opportunity to give the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) feedback on their satisfaction, attitudes, perceptions, and opinions about the services provided by their respective contractor. This year, 69 percent of providers stated they were satisfied or very satisfied with their contractor’s overall performance. Approximately 13 percent stated they were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied.
