Question Post Partum

HI-
I am new to coding and so far have some hands on training and currently getting certified.

ICD-9 has the postpartum codes all listed as primary dx codes only. If case scenerio is pt. goes in for screening but post partum is listed under clinical hx. Since there is not a secondary postpartum dx code available to use do I just code papsmear as screening or postpartum?

Any help will be appreciated!

Default postpartum

a pap smear is routine in the postpartum checkup so the postpartum code should be sufficient and valid as a primary dx code as stated
