Question Patient referred during fracture care period

Patient initially seen two months ago for scaphoid fracture, was cast and fracture care code billed-patient has continued to return for regular follow up visit/re-casting/x-rays /etc as necessary since initial visit. However, physician noted at today's appt that the facture is not continuing to heal and is referring patient to another Orthopedic.

I just need reassurance, since our office initially billed the global period but the patient is being referred 2 months out - due to nonunon - our billing stands as is-Correct? We are still able to bill the global since that was the intention, however, due to complications the patient is being referred????

Yes - your billing for fracture care still stands.
