Position Title: Coder Company Name: Central Washington Hospital Work Setting: Physician Office Job Function: Coding - Physician Services Career Level: Experienced (non-manager) Job Type: Full-Time Location(s): Wenatchee, Washington, 98801, United States Posted: April 26, 2012 Job Duration: Indefinite Min Education: HIM Certificate Program/ISP Min Experience: 2-5 Required Travel: None Required and Preferred Credentials: CCS or CPC Salary: $16.62 - $23.50 (Hourly Wage) To provide accurate coding of professional services for Evaluation and Management, office and surgical procedures for providers as assigned. Perform reviews of coded charges pre and post payment. Utilizes compiled information for education and compliance training of staff and providers. Non-Exempt (hourly – eligible for overtime) Minimum Education •High School graduate. Minimum Work Experience •Two years experience in out patient medical billing, which includes coding evaluation and management services, procedures and supplies. •Experience with reimbursement and insurance claims processing. Required Licenses/ Certifications •CCS or CPC. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities •Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. •Demonstrate good communication skills with all levels of staff. •Knowledge of insurance carrier billing principles and coding requirements. •Ability to examine, code and review medical record documents for appropriate procedure, diagnosis and supply codes with completeness and accuracy. •Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS codes and guidelines. •Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management. •Ability to use different computer programs, and experience with business office equipment (10-key, calculator, copy machine, fax, etc.). •Demonstrate understanding of confidentiality of position.
