Physician Coder opportunities are available at a variety of physician practice locations. Candidates must be a High school graduate and have computer/typing literacy. A working knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Medical terminology is required. Candidate must have thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 as evidenced by results of coding skills test. Completion of coding certificate program required. Candidates must also have one of the following certifications: Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice (CPC-A) through the American Academy of Professional Coders renewed every year .Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the American Academy of Professional Coders renewed every year. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) renewed every year. Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) renewed every year. Certified Coding Associate (CCA) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) renewed every year. Physician Coder I (Job ID#107902) Minimum of one year coding or billing experience in professional or physician practice coding. Physician Coder II (Job ID#110475) Three years certified coding or billing experience in professional or physician practice coding.
