Default 88173 x 2?

I have a patient who underwent FNA of thyroid nodules on both right and left sides. I don't code path & lab very often so was wondering if 88173 should be reported once or twice for the evaluation, interp and report?
I see the parenthetical note under 88173 in CPT 2012 "(Report one unit of 88173 for the interpretation and report from each anatomic site, regardless of the number of passes or evaluation episodes performed during the aspiration procedure.)"

Is the total thyroid considered one anatomic site or would each lobe be separately considered?
