If a patient comes in and has a venogram on the rt side jugular vein and it gets stopped by an occlusion so the Interventionalist performs a venogram on the lt side jugular vein and places a catheter, then what would I code?
75860 RT/LT- RS&I 36556 CVA Help

Yes, a report would be helpful but I am going to take a stab at this without the report
![]() For the venogram on the rt side I would use 36005 Rt-59 & 75820-26. ( I take it that is were he attempted to place the quinton cath?) Now when you say catheter on the left you mean a Quinton catheter . I am thinking that because you coded 36556, which is a Quinton, non-tunneld catheter placement. So with out report I am only asuming but take a look at codes 36556-Lt 36005-Rt 59 75820-26 Your dx for 36005 would be different than the 36556. Hope this helps! |
