Default Asc visits

Hey coder friends,

Can you please answer a question for me, if we have a patient scheduled to come into our ASC department for Laser, the doc see's the patient, gives the patient pilo, does vitals and completes forms for the procedure than see's that the patient has had a laser prior and we are unable to do the laser; can we bill for an exam code in the surgery suite?
