to est care with no WCC
If a mother wants to establish care with a provider and a WCC is not needed…How would you code it? Pt has already had a WCC at a different facility and medicaid will not pay.

when a patient calls with that kind of request, we have them transfer their records in, offer to answer any questions,send a brochure or direct them to our web site. expecting parents can come in for free prenatal. if they are not sick or in need of med management there is nothing to bill for and should be halted or referred from 1st phone call. there is no such thing as a "get aquainted" visit. i would inform practice manager that is a real risk with dmas auditors lurking about. hope that helps. lburke cpedc
