Default neurosurgery ?

Hi,
Can someone tell me what the best way to code a right-sided decompressive craniectomy and placement of subfascial drain would be?
Patient received craniectomy due to ICA stroke. Would the drain be included? I can't find anything about it. Also, do you code dural closure or is it included?
Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Based on what you posted, my first gut instinct was CPT code 61322. The duraplasty and drain are included in this code. What were you leaning towards?

Cool Sagittal & left lambdoid suturectomy

My surgeon performed suturectomies on two different cranial sutures, using two different incisions. Can this be billed 61550, 61550-59? Thanks!

Default Post the op note

For an accurate response to surgical coding questions, please post the scrubbed operative note. Coders should only code from the body of the report, not from the "label" or "title."

Hope that helps.
