neurosurgery ?
Hi,
Can someone tell me what the best way to code a right-sided decompressive craniectomy and placement of subfascial drain would be? Patient received craniectomy due to ICA stroke. Would the drain be included? I can't find anything about it. Also, do you code dural closure or is it included? Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Based on what you posted, my first gut instinct was CPT code 61322. The duraplasty and drain are included in this code. What were you leaning towards?
