Xcenda, a division of AmerisourceBergen, a Fortune 27 company, is seeking candidates with healthcare reimbursement experience, physician office experience, and pharmaceutical sales or private payer experience. Introduction/Background: Xcenda currently provides National field-based health care reimbursement teams for several of our pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical clients. These teams are responsible for providing field support for patient access to our client’s products through interaction with the client’s reimbursement support program. These field reimbursement specialists are regionally based and provide their expertise and experience to help resolve patient access issues and to provide educational services within a physician office environment. Field reimbursement specialists work directly with prescribers and their office support staff and commonly interact with other reimbursement and patient support services provided by our clients. Xcenda is currently recruiting for field reimbursement specialist positions and has several very exciting opportunities in locations throughout the United States Services and activities provided by Field Reimbursement Specialists Field reimbursement specialists manage daily activities that support appropriate patient access to our client’s products in the provider offices and work as a liaison to other patient assistance and reimbursement support services offered by our clients. Activities include, but are not limited to, reviewing patient benefit options, including patient cost-share responsibilities, prior authorization requirements, and alternate funding/financial assistance options as well as coordinating with our client’s patient support services program representatives to address reimbursement issues. Field reimbursement specialists will also educate physician office staff on the use of our client’s patient assistance and reimbursement support services including web based programs. Likewise, field reimbursement specialists provide information on relevant reimbursement topics related to our client’s products. Skills Required To Be A Successful Field Reimbursement Specialist The ability to assist prescribers and their staff with addressing barriers to appropriate patient access to our client’s products requires broad knowledge and skills, including technical knowledge of health care reimbursement from a patient and provider perspective and an ability to effectively interact with physicians and their staff. Three skills critical to being successful in this position include: • General payer policy knowledge including managed care and Medicare/Medicaid • Foundational knowledge of benefit verifications and prior authorization requirements • Knowledge of reimbursement processes within the physician office Specific knowledge of local payer policies related to a specific client product will be acquired during training sessions. All interactions with allied health professionals require detailed attention to customer needs and satisfaction. And most importantly, all field reimbursement activities are required to be conducted and managed within all appropriate legal and regulatory guidelines and require continuous monitoring of compliance with such guidelines and laws. Minimum Qualifications & Education: • Bachelor’s degree preferred, work experience in a provider office, patient reimbursement support services, or pharmaceutical industry mandatory • Minimum one year experience in public or private third party reimbursement arena required, three years experience preferred • Ability to conduct field-based reimbursement support and education • Experience with reimbursement billing, coding, and appeals process preferred • Knowledge of private payer, Medicare Part D and Medicaid structure, systems, and reimbursement process required • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills • Demonstrated teamwork abilities • Project management skills • Ability to work independently • Ability to travel • Ability to manage expenses within allocated budgets • Good driving record • Ability to utilize own car for travel (mileage reimbursed) • Above average computer skills Terms of Employment We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, employee stock purchase plan, short term disability insurance, long term disability insurance, life insurance, employee assistance program, and tuition reimbursement.
