Default Neoplasm coding question

Assistance please, how would you could....

metastatic osteosarcoma of the lung

Is the osteosarcoma secondary or is the lung secondary?

The lung would be secondary.

My co-worker and I discussed this. The word metastatic can be used in 2 different ways. The way you worded the diagnosis we would take to mean it originated in the bone and spread to the lung.

I agree that the lung is secondary.
