Default Correct Billing

If our normal protocol is to do 5 views but the ordering physician only orders 2 views, shouldn't the correct coding and billing be for the 2 views? Our radiology manager wants to bill for the 5 views. Any input would be appreciated.

You code on what was dictated. If the report says two views were done, that's what you code. If five views were dictated, you code for five views.

What CPT is this particular test? That would help with what to use. Thanks!
