THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS QUESTIONING OUR DOCTOR IN REGARDS TO PT'S AGE GROUP BETWEEN 14-25, " WHY THERE IS NO GYN RESULT FOR CHLAMYDIA OR OTHER STD ? " THESE ARE THE PT'S AGE GROUP POP UP WITH THE INSURANCE CARRIER WHEN THEIR DOING PAY PER PERFORMANCE. THE REASON THE DOCTOR DOES'NT DO THESE TEST, BECAUSE THE PT IS A VIRGIN AND THE DOCTOR DOES'NT FEEL HE NEEDS TO DO THE GYN EXAM ON A VIRGINT FEMALE. IS THERE A ICD-9 CODE TO USE TO INDICATE THAT THE PT IS VIRGIN AND NO GYN IS NEEDED. SO THEY DON'T KEEP QUESTIONING THE DOCTORS. I HOPE THIS MAKE SENSE.

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE

Wow, that's a hard one. I do see where routine testing is recommended in that age group if they are seeking gyn care, but when no gyn care is done you wouldn't think that it would pop up. I would call the insurance company and ask them what they specifically want in this situation.

Sorry couldn't help more!

THANK YOU JENI FOR YOUR RESPONSE. I THINK YOUR RIGHT, CALLING THE INSURANCE CARRIER IS THE BEST THING TO DO.

THANK YOU AGAIN
