Default POS code for post surgery observation status

Help, I have a provider who does Robotic Laparoscopy vaginal hysterectomy who then has the patient in observation status hospital care for 23 hours or less. This is for the recovery/post procedure stay. On my surgical procdure billing what POS do I use 21 or 22 or something different? I work for a physican not for the facility.

Thanks for all your help

Default

As long as the patient is not admitted as an inpatient, the POS will always be 22 for "Outpatient Hospital".
