Is anyone getting reimbursed for doing a PET/CT and an additional diagnostic CT on the same day with medical necessity? Apparently oncologist would like to order these tests.
Just to clarify... -The patient would have a PET/CT and then the patient would go for diagnostic CT's (e.g. neck, chest, etc.), same day. The PET/CT images were obtained and then additional diagnostic CT images are obtained. Thank you,

You should get paid for both assuming you have good documentation. There is ample support from SNM, ACR, and AMA for coding both when medically necessary and separate CTs are performed.

Thank you very much for your input. We have looked into those sources especially SNM and unfortunately I couldn't come up with any recent documentation. I do appreciate your response.
