Question ? Global Period

No more global periods as of 11/1/2011? I was ask this question today and cannot find an answer. Anyone out there know of a new ruling? Welzi

Another coder said a facility told her that--she ask me to look into it!!

I have not heard that either. I have checked our Medicare website for Texas and there is no mention of doing away with global periods.

It may have to do with facility rules , there is no global for facility coding and billing, maybe that has caused some confusion, also in 2010 Medicare removed the global for most small lac repairs, some other carriers followed suit.
