Incident to Billing

Does the MD have to sign the NPs note when billing Incident to or does direct supervision suffice?

All other rules of Incident to billing are being followed.

I don't believe there is a CMS rule stating that... but evidence of direct physician supervision is usually required if the claim is denied/audited. The direct supervision can be "proved" by the NP/PA stating it in their documentation like "Direct supervision was provided in the office today by Dr. XXX" OR the physician can sign and date the NP/PA's note like you said.
