There's also a code if the pt. is under age 5 (36568). You can also use 77001 if fluoroscopic guidance was used and 76937 if US guidance was used and if a permanent image of the US was recorded and saved.

Hello All,
How about the chest x-ray if it is done with PICC. do we code separately? CCI edit says you can but you have to add modifier -59 to chest x-ray but we are not getting paid for the chest x-ray only payment is for code 36556. If we do not get paid, what is the point to add modifier -59 to chest x-ray code. Thanks, This is for facility charges. Fami |

There is a debate in our office over the diagnosis code for a PICC line placement and a VAD placement. Would they both be coded as a V58.81??
