Default C & TC Immunization Dx

We have recently had problems with Child and Teen Checkup visits being denied by MA due to too many Dx codes. The reason there are so many is becuase we put a v-code on each immunization. MA is telling us not to do that, we should put V20.2 on everything on the claim. Have any other facilities run into this? If so, how did you work through it? Are you putting V20.2 on immunizations or are you splitting the claim.

Thank you,

Kari

We put a separate V code on each immunization. If this results in more than 4 dx's then the claim is spilt. Our billing software actually does this automatically! Hope that helps!
