Overview:

There are different types of fractures and different kinds of treatments for those fractures. This session will review through anatomy, ICD-9-CM, and CPT® codes the proper way to code for fractures to ensure that the provider receives the appropriate reimbursement.

• ICD-9-CM coding for open vs. closed fractures
• ICD-9-CM and CPT® coding for non-traumatic fractures
• Coding for fracture treatment in the office
• Coding for patients referred from the emergency room

Lynn is the Senior Director of Coding Compliance and Education for Healthcare Information Services, a physician's billing service. She has 28 years of experience in all areas of the physician practice. Lynn has been a presenter for AAPC at national conferences, workshops, audio conferences, and webinars. She is a former member of the NAB and also founded her local chapter.
