Overview:

The session will cover the proper coding used from the musculoskeletal an nervous system sections of the CPT manual for spine surgery. We will also review the appropriate reporting of multiple surgeons.

You Will Learn:

What is the difference between interspace and vertebral segment and its importance in coding spine surgery.
What CPT codes can be billed with an assistant and which can be billed with a co-surgeon.
Proper use of the 20000 and 60000 codes related to spine surgery.

The coder will be able to use the information from this session to pull out of an operative report the specific details in reporting the proper CPT codes, as well as be able to identify the many possible procedures that can be coded in one case, to confirm that the proper reimbursement is received.
