Top Errors to Avoid and Specialty Updates for 2012: Orthopedics

Overview:

The session will review all of the changes related to the orthopedic practice, both for surgery and office charges. We will also look at current trends in CCI edits and insurance carrier policies that may be affecting reimbursement of common orthopedic procedures.

You Will Learn:

• Review the 2012 CPT changes for orthopedics from any applicable sections of the CPT.
• Supply samples of letters for appeals of common orthopedic denials.
• Discuss any emerging technology.

Attendees will have a better understanding of any changes in the CPT affecting Orthopedics, as well as how to handle 10 common orthopedic denials due to improper coding or misinterpretation of coding rules.
