Medical Coding Training Curriculum
Designed specifically by medical coding professionals and instructors, AAPC's curriculum will prepare
each student for academic and real world success on the path to CPC® or CPC-H® certification.
Real physician-office medical records are dissected, helping students interpret the documentation,
appropriately select codes, and become more accurate and efficient coders.
The Medical Coding Training textbooks have been dramatically enhanced to provide guidance
for proper use and application of the coding guidelines within each coding manual (ICD-9-CM, CPT®,
HCPCS Level II). The accompanying practical application workbook is full of more than 150 real notes
from medical offices to give the student practice in physician based medical coding. In both texts, chapter
reviews help the student apply what is learned in each section.
- 30% Better Pass Rate - PMCC students taught from AAPC's curriculum have
a 30% higher CPC® exam pass rate than PMCC students taught from other curriculum.
- Curriculum Based on Exam - The questions in the AAPC text and test bank
are formatted and worded to mimic the CPC® exam, offering confidence and eliminating surprises
on testing day.
- Op Note Dissections - Op notes throughout the textbook are dissected to
teach students how to find and extract the most relevant information.
- Anatomy and Medical Terminology Throughout - In addition to having its own
dedicated section, anatomy and medical terminology are integrated into each surgery chapter.
