The American Academy of Professional Coders Announces First Ever Chapter Association Board of Directors
New Board Will Support Local Leaders And Give Members More Opportunities To Get Involved On The National Level

Salt Lake City – July 9, 2007 – The Board of Directors for the first ever American Academy of Professional Coders Chapter Association (AAPCCA) has been named. Independent of the AAPC national office, the AAPCCA Board of Directors will work in tandem with AAPC local chapter leaders to support their strategic initiatives and programs. The AAPCCA and the local chapters form the nonprofit arm of the AAPC.

Led by Chair Georgette Gustin, CPC, CCS-P, CHC, the board is made up of 16 AAPC members from across the country and one AAPC national office representative. Board members serve two-year terms.

"It's a time of great optimism and growth at the AAPC," said Gustin, AAPCCA chair and former president of the AAPC's National Advisory Board. "The AAPC Chapter Association will provide a voice from local chapters to the national office, as well as support and guidance."

The AAPCCA will provide the hundreds of AAPC Chapters with guidance by coordinating a consistent infrastructure as well as a support system to help make each chapter successful.

"The Chapter Association Board was created to help further support the local chapter leaders," said Bruce Morrison, director of the local chapters division at AAPC and the AAPC national liaison on the board. "The board members represent a variety of chapters – large, small, rural, urban – and with various previous experience. We have a well-rounded, high-quality board to support our local chapters."
