The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) has released a new credential, the Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC), to help navigate through coding change and decrease reimbursement and compliance errors.

    I currently have an IR certification through Medical Asset Management (CIC). Is it true that the current CIC holders will be “grandfathered” into the new CIRCC credential?

    I am also certified with MAM with a CIC credential. Will there be an alternate test for the cardiology portion of the new AAPC credential?
