The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation program for Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) will be ready in July thanks to a successful completion of tests at 10 health care organizations.
ACOs, a part of health care reform, are provider-based organizations that take responsibility for improving health needs within a defined population.
NCQA will incorporate feedback from the testing to finalize standards before it issues ACO accreditation guidelines in July.
