CMA Today: Consultation Coding Hits & Misses

What is a consultation? AAPC member Sandra Kunze discusses the consultation coding issues in the most recent issue of CMA Today. “Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) wants to make sure the rules for consultation coding are well understood, because even though the CPT consultation codes for Office or Other Outpatient Consultations and and Inpatient Consultations are valid codes, CMS discounted pay for them in January 2010, with the exception of the telehealth G-Code,” says Kunze.
