ICD-10 implementation will continue to be a hot topic in health care until 2013. Recently, former AAPC CEO Deb Grider, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-I, CPC-P, CPMA and AAPC ICD-10 trainer Antanya Chung, CPC, CPC, CRHC, CCP spoke with The Rheumatologist about the upcoming implementation. “Many practices think this is just a software upgrade with no urgency in getting ready,” said Grider. “The ICD is used in many areas of the practice including financial, practice management, and electronic health records. Many think this is a 48–62-month transition, which means some are already way behind.”
