This spring, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) offered provider compliance trainings in six cities: Houston, Tampa, Kansas City, Baton Rouge, Denver, and Washington, D.C. If you’re interested in health care compliance, but didn’t get a chance to make any of these sessions, you can still catch the May 18 training held in Washington, D.C. The OIG recently posted materials for this session online.

Learn about compliance laws and how to stay compliant, as well as find out where to turn when a health care fraud issue arises, by watching the three hour and 45 minute video on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) and Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Health Care Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) provider compliance. Alternatively, you can choose from 16 individual modules of the webcast—perhaps a better choice if you’re pressed for time.
Presentation handouts are also available. Topics include:

  • Anti-kickback Statute and Stark Law
  • Physician Self-referral Law
  • Safe Harbors
  • Program Exclusions
  • Recommended Resources
  • OIG Self-disclosure Protocol
