American Medical News: Practices’ clear payment policies let patients know where they stand
As with most services, payment of such services is expected. In the past visiting a doctor’s office and dealing with the payment situation could be tricky. AAPC Physician Services vice president Dixon Davis participated in a recent article from the American Medical News about such a subject.
“Maybe the first time is OK, but action is taken if someone forgets on a chronic basis. Are you going to charge them a fee as a deterrent? How strong are you going to be if it’s not an urgent problem? Identify what your policies are going to be up front,” said Davis.
