According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 47 million Americans are without health insurance. As a benefit to its 70,000 members and to reduce the number of uninsured, the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC, www.aapc.com) announces today it has agreements in place with major health insurance carriers nationwide to give AAPC members online access to affordable health insurance coverage for individuals, families and the self-employed. By applying through AAPC, applicants have a better chance of approval and can more easily qualify at a better coverage rate.
AAPC will also offer members term life insurance for individuals and families. Both programs launch today with applications available online from within the Member Area of www.aapc.com.
“We hope this program gives many the opportunity to either get health insurance or to reduce their cost of health insurance,” said Reed E. Pew, president and CEO of AAPC.“ Our association is very active in the medical and health care industries, and we want to continue to do our part to improve the nation’s health care.”
While AAPC cannot guarantee that applicants will be accepted, this new program gives members access to insurance carriers in their state or region through special agreements negotiated by the AAPC. The carriers offer a wide range of coverage, from basic to comprehensive and with a large variety of deductibles.
