ICD-10 Hub: ICD-11? We haven’t even Implemented ICD-10 yet?
ICD-10 is still a year away, but many in health care wonder why not skip ICD-10 and into ICD-11 to catch up with the rest of the world. AAPC’s Kathy Rowland, CPC, CEMC, CPC-I, CHC discussed the idea in a recent blog post for ICD-10 Hub.
“Implementing ICD-11 before ICD-10 would be putting the proverbial cart before the horse. ICD-10 provides the structure and format for which to build on, and specifically provides the foundation for future expansion of the code set as we will see in ICD-11,” she stated.
