Medicare Provider Taxes

A recent report from the Congressional Research Service for Congress highlights the states’ uses of provider taxes in the 1980s and 90s. The report explains how the states use provider taxes to help finance Medicaid and provides information about what the states are currently using to tax.
Alison Mitchell, an analyst in health care financing writes the report.
