Becker’s ASC Review: 7 Goals for ICD-10 Preparation for the next 6 months
As the ICD-10 implementation continues to loom large in the health care industry. AAPC vice president of ICD-10 training and education Rhonda Buckholtz, CPC, CPMA, CPC-I gave Becker’s ASC Review readers seven goals for ICD-10 preparation in a recent article, published in its January/February edition.
“Coders can take external courses in anatomy and physiology or bone up on the subject using an up-to-date textbook,” says Buckholtz. “Whichever method you choose, make sure to pay for training to retain coders: Once the ICD-10 implementation date rolls around, coders will be in short supply and you want to build loyalty before then.”
