Take some time and define what (or who) you are looking for in your network. Occasionally you’ll stumble across someone amazing by coincidence, but you’re better off determining the type of people you want in your network. Are you looking for someone with a certain job title? Or working at a certain company/facility? Someone with certain connections of their own? Someone who shares certain viewpoints with you? Be proactive and create a list of people that you want to contact on purpose.
