Many coders have opportunities to telecommute as part of their jobs. AAPC NAB member Debbie Senarighi, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, CPMA is one of those that work remotely and recently discussed that side of the industry in an Advance for Health Information Professionals column.
“It is of the utmost importance to keep the lines of communication open between a coder working at home with the physicians and other providers. Coding is directly related to their income, and you always want to continue to build relationships especially when you don’t see them on a daily basis,” she stated.
