March 28 Nat’l Provider Call: Initial Exam and AWV

A national provider call offered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) March 28 will help answer providers’ questions about the Welcome to Medicare preventive visit  (also known as the Initial Preventive Physical Exam (IPPE)) and the Annual Wellness Visit (AWV). Topics to be discussed include the Health Risk Assessment added to the AWV.  The 90-minute call begins at 2:30 ET.The agency says its experts will be on hand to discuss both exams, including when to perform them, who can perform them, who is eligible for the service, and how to code and bill each session. Providers, billers, coders, and other medical professionals are invited to attend the call, which will include a question and answer session.

Participants may register for the call up to noon the day of the call and access the presentation up to 24 hours beforehand.
