Diabetes Practice Options: Institute a Compliance Plan Now to Avoid Future Coding Audits
AAPC Physician Services regional director Teri Gatchel, CPC recently discussed auditing and compliance in the March edition of Diabetes Practice Options.
“Providers can arm themselves with a plan to reduce their risk of being audited while practicing compliant billing activities,” she wrote. “First and foremost it is important that they take advantage of the published results from these government agencies. They should familiarize themselves with the areas targeted by each agency and incorporate procedures into their plans to avoid violations.”
