Helping Chapter Members Prepare for the Future
Even though the compliance date for ICD-10 implementation is October 1, 2014 and may feel like a long way off, there are many things you can begin to do to prepare.
Medical record documentation for the specificity found within ICD-10-CM will pose unique challenges for medical practices. AAPC can help with documentation readiness assessments, as well as training for implementation.
While it is still too soon for code set training, there are other ways for coders to prepare such as training for anatomy and pathophysiology. AAPC’s online course will help you navigate the specificity required to understand the new code set. For more information on ICD-10 trainings and education, contact James Johnson at 800-626-2633, ext 172.
AAPC’s Certified Physician Practice Manager (CPPM) credential validates the skill sets of aspiring and also experienced managers. There are different options to help you prepare for the certification exam including boot camps, online training, and self study. For information on this new and exciting credential and options for bringing training to your area, visit our website or contact Dixon Davis at 866-200-4157, ext. 307.
