Physicians Practice: ICD-10 Training – When, Where, and How Good?

Now is the time to plan for ICD-10 training and education, if you haven’t already started. AAPC’s ICD-10 Specialist Jackie Stack, BSHA, CPC, CPC-I, CEMC, CFPC, CIMC, CPEDC, CCP-P, recently authored an article for Physicians Practice in which she details when various staff members should get their ICD-10 training, what types of training to consider, where to get the training, and how to evaluate the success of the training.

“Depending on the size of your practice a committee may need to be established to assist the project,” she writes. “The size and scope of ICD-10 education must not be underestimated. With a good education plan, the education and training will be a success.”

    Hi Jackie,

I am looking for an ICD-10 boot camp (not an implementation boot camp). I work for a solo practice and do not need to train a team. I am looking for a course to prepare me for ICD-10 before October.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Carolyn – Our General ICD-10 Code Set Training Boot Camps will begin in July 2013 (although early bird registration starts in February). There will also be other training options and bundle packages available soon, which will be helpful especially if you’ll also need specialty training.

My name is DR Maldonado, I am a solo IM practitioner and looking for a ICD 10 Boot camp and not a onsite training. I live in Naples, Florida.
    Thanks,

    DR Maldonado
