Minor mistakes in medical coding can mean a major loss in revenue and possibly even fines from the federal government. So it’s important to code right the first time, every time. Physicians Practice recently hosted a webinar featuring AAPC’s Director of Product Development Raemarie Jimenez, CPC, CPB, CPMA, CPPM, CPC-I, CANPC, CRHC. Ms. Jimenez discussed some of the most common questions she’s heard and common industry mistakes she’s noticed, particularly involving:
  • Modifier 25;
  • Modifier 59;
  • E/M documentation;
  • NCCI edits; and
  • Medical necessity.
