April Update to 2014 MPFSDB

The April update to the 2014 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Database (MPFSDB) implements descriptor corrections for HCPCS Level II codes G0416-G0419; relative value unit (RVU) changes for CPT® code 77293; one new HCPCS Level II code for documentation of the medical indication for reasons of elective delivery or early induction of pregnancy; and indicator corrections to a long list of imaging codes.
Short Description Corrections
The following code descriptor changes are effective January 1, 2014:

New HCPCS Level II Code
New on the list is G9361 Medical indication for induction [Documentation of reason(s) for elective delivery or early induction (e.g., hemorrhage and placental complications, hypertension, preeclampsia and eclampsia, rupture of membranes-premature, prolonged maternal conditions complicating pregnancy/delivery, fetal conditions complicating pregnancy/delivery, malposition and malpresentation of fetus, late pregnancy, prior uterine surgery, or participation in clinical trial.
This code is effective January 1, 2014. Contractors will not search their files to retroactively pay claims, but will adjust claims brought to their attention.
TC Indicator Corrections
Finally, the April update to the MPFSDB includes indicator corrections, effective January 1, 2014, made to a long list of 70000-series diagnostic imaging codes, as well as two supervision codes, 93880 and 93882.
