ICD-10 Monitor: Talk Ten Tuesday
Director of the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS), Brian Murphy, CPC and , VP of ICD training and education at AAPC, Rhonda Buckholtz were both guests on a recent episode of Talk Ten Tuesday. “In the past week I’ve heard a lot of people reach out and say that this delay is a gift.” said Rhonda. “To some extent I believe that’s true. However, I hope it’s a gift that is never re-gifted.” Brian cited the language found in the HR 4302 bill,
The Secretary of Health and Human Services may not, prior to October 1, 2015, adopt ICD–10 code sets as the standard for code sets…
“That October 1, 2015 date does appear a little tentative so we’re hoping for some more guidance from CMS.” said Brian. In the meantime, he recommend members continue in their ICD-10 training. Listen to the full episode.
